dental - north city diagnostic

Dental – Diagnostic procedures in dentistry include any procedure used to find a problem with a tooth, gum tissue, or other oral structures of the mouth. At North City we provide OPG, CBCT etc. different procedures of Dentistry.

CBCT

3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) allows dentists to evaluate underlying bone, nerve pathways and surrounding soft tissues. It is a special type of x-ray machine used in situations where regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. This type of CT scanner uses a special type of technology to generate three dimensional (3-D) images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images obtained with cone beam CT allow for more precise treatment planning.

Simplicity at its best

With its legendary ease of use and latest enhancements, CBCT delivers outstanding image clarity in all modalities. This simple 4-in-1 solution offers great value and no compromise on quality — ideal for general dentists and endodontists who want to benefit from in-office CBCT imaging.

Dental cone beam CT is commonly used for treatment planning of issues. Tell your doctor about recent illnesses or other medical conditions.  It is also useful for more complex cases that involve:

  • Surgical planning for impacted teeth.
  • Diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).
  • Accurate placement of dental implants.
  • Evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity.
  • Detecting, measuring and treating jaw tumors.
  • Determining bone structure and tooth orientation.

Noise free high resolution 3D images

At 75 microns, CBCT delivers ultra-high resolution images, while ANR algorithm
reduces image noise while preseving details.

Plan implants with confidence

It combines accurate 3D images with intuitive implant planing software.

Razor sharp panaromic image

It has the new tomosharp algorithm combined with latest image processing technology.

Low dose imaging

Low dose mode delivers high quality images at lower than standard dosage for a
safer examination.

Ultra compact and intuitive

It features the most intuitive interface and imaging software.

Smart design

Smart, laser-free face-toface positioning facilitates proper patient placement and increase
accuracy.

A cone beam CT examination requires no special preparation.

Prior to the examination, you may be asked to remove anything that may interfere with the imaging, including metal objects, such as jewelry, eyeglasses, hairpins and hearing aids. Although removable dental work may need to be removed, it is advisable to bring these to your examination, as your dentist or oral surgeon may need to examine these as well.

Women should always inform their dentist or oral surgeon if there is any possibility that they are pregnant.

OPG

An OPG is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film.  It demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted. It is different from the small close up x-rays dentists take of individual teeth. An OPG may also reveal problems with the jawbone and the joint which connects the jawbone to the head, called the Temporomandibular joint or TMJ. An OPG may be requested for the planning of orthodontic treatment, for assessment of wisdom teeth or for a general overview of the teeth and the bone which supports the teeth.

You may be asked to remove jewellery, eyeglasses, and any metal objects that may obscure the images. You will be asked to stand with your face resting on a small shelf and to bite gently on a sterile mouth piece to steady your head. It is important to stay very still while the x-ray is taken. You will not feel any discomfort during the procedure.
